The Atlanta Falcons' search for a new head coach appears over as the Falcons are set to hire Raheem Morris. Atlanta hired Morris, most recently the Los Angeles Rams' defensive coordinator, 13 years after his last head coaching run with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Morris was also the Falcons' interim head coach for the last 11 games of the 2020 season after the team fired Dan Quinn.
Atlanta looked close to hiring six-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick after two coaching interviews, the latest coming last Friday. The team also met with Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

Atlanta going with Morris instead of Belichick led to a mixed response on social media from fans and media alike.

What's next for Bill Belichick?
As one of the winningest coaches in NFL history, Belichick is still available but the number of open head coaching positions is dwindling. This week the Tennessee Titans hired Brian Callahan, the Los Angeles Chargers hired Jim Harbaugh, and the Falcons signed Morris.

That leaves two teams left without a head coach: the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders. Belichick hasn't interviewed with either franchise as of Jan. 25.
